A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to travel up to Sheffield for the annual film and documentary festival - Sheffield Doc Fest (sheffdocfest.com)
My main purpose was to gain as much insight into video and film to bring back to the team at LUSH but I am also MASSIVE fan of Sagmeister & Walsh so was desperate to see the latest film Sagmeister had been working on! (sagmeisterwalsh.com)
The film itself was 6 years in the making and Sagmeister explores different variations of achieving happiness. It's one of those films that is incredibly touching, painfully hitting points of a lot of my own life experiences.
It also put emphasis on the pressure we put on our relationships with others, the expectations of love and the reality of these experiences.
The film itself is funny, sad, touching and witty all at the same time, with the addition of lots of visual queues which are simply beautiful. The films uses the Sagmeister & Walsh classic strength of clever typography which is appeasing to the eye from start to finish.
I just hope I can get a copy of it at some point in the future! 5*s!
